Suspension request: pausing interconnection work without losing position
The interconnection customer's tariff right to suspend construction work under an executed agreement for a limited period, subject to cost responsibility for the suspension.
A suspension request is the mechanism by which an interconnection customer with an executed interconnection agreement pauses construction of its interconnection facilities and network upgrades without terminating the agreement.
The pro forma agreement permits suspension for a defined period, commonly up to three years, on written notice. The customer remains responsible for costs arising from the suspension: work already performed, demobilisation, storage of equipment, and remobilisation when work resumes. Milestones, including the commercial operation date, are adjusted according to the agreement''s terms.
Suspension is distinct from withdrawal. A withdrawn request leaves the queue and may trigger a withdrawal penalty and reallocation of shared upgrade costs among remaining projects. A suspended project remains a party to its agreement, and the suspension and any consequent amendment are documented in filings on the docket.
